Type: Houses
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This multi-generational tropical haven spans three stories and a semi-basement, covering 10,000 sq ft. The modern-contemporary design combines influences of Modernist, Cubist, Scandinavian, and Chinese styles, showcasing a vibrant palette. The residence boasts six bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms and wardrobes, while the master suite on the upper floor overlooks the grand entrance and features a walk-in closet, his & hers vanity, shower stall, and a luxurious bathtub.
Strategically placed spaces include a generous sitting room by the main entrance, a maid's quarters and storage at the semi-basement, accessible through a secondary stairway adjacent to the wet kitchen. The dwelling encompasses practical elements like a large wet kitchen for Asian cooking, a dry kitchen for baking and informal dining, and an open-air pool at the front, accessible from the dry kitchen and dining space.
Entertainment and relaxation areas abound, from the family room and home office to an exercise area, indoor hobby room, and outdoor hobby space with a koi pond for fish rearing. Semi-outdoor "lanai" spaces replace traditional balconies on upper floors, providing low-maintenance landscaping and fostering a connection with nature. The design is completed with a grand main door, a driveway to the car porch, a garage for 4-5 cars, a BBQ area, laundry yard, and a ping-pong space, ensuring this Balinese tropical house harmoniously integrates luxury and functionality.
